A daily challenge has been added for Shisen and Word Ruffle. Each day, users can solve the same puzzle and the best times/scores are posted on the leaderboard. Based on the popularity of these, the challenges may be extended to other games.
The user registration system has now been implemented in Sudoku Sniper and Word Ferret to avoid name abuse.

maybe folks are smarter than i am, but i see some pretty amazing times posted fro shisen; times that I can't come close to, even when i feel that i've gone through the puzzle quite well. I wonder if people are taking a screen shot of the puzzle and then pausing the game and using the screen shot to develop a strategy. I think pausing the game should be removed as an option. Once you start, the clock is running.

ReplyDeleteI recommend you disable the ability to pause Freecell Challenge as you did with Shisen. I think the top times are pretty unbelievable and people are taking a screenshot and pausing the game while they plan a strategy away from the the actual game. Once the clock starts, you should have to finish the game without pausing.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy the Wordruffle Daily Challenge. I always thought I was pretty smart but I bow to Dangleebits. WOW!
ReplyDeleteThe same four names continue to dominate the Shisen times by a wide margin. Obviously, someone has figured out a way to either pause the puzzle or copy it away to solve. I suspect that it is the same person who uses all 4 names. It is sad that people have to go to such lengths just to get their names on a leader board.
ReplyDeleteI fully agree with you! I also suspect it is the same person but cannot be absolutely sure (the IP addresses of registration and emails are different) and so I do not want to delete. However, the one has a password of the other userid and vice-versa. I have already removed a lot of other registrations that are obviously the same person and banned certain IPs. Who are they trying to cheat other than themselves? If the culprits read this, please desist. It is not in the spirit that the leaderboard was intended.
